Design And Technology
Conventional Evergreen Argo Tech are not able to operate during the winter months due to high costs associated with maintaining optimal growing conditions. Our energy efficient greenhouses operate in all four seasons. There are two important considerations to our design objectives: plant growth and energy efficiency. Our priority is plant growth while controlling for the most optimum efficient operating conditions for ventilation, lighting, and minimal energy consumption to achieve the desired outcomes.
During the consultation and design phase we will determine the best use of technology to suit individual growing needs. We have many options to consider in this process including:

Modern growing techniques include:
Hydroponics: the method of growing plants in a water based, nutrient rich solution. The basic idea behind hydroponics is to allow the plants roots to come in direct contact with the nutrient solution, while also having access to oxygen, which is essential for proper growth.
Aquaponics: the marriage of aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (the soil-less growing of plants). It is highly adaptable to home-based use, is also very low maintenance, and produces very high amount of food/area (food density), while requiring very little external inputs.
